- STATED ORGANIC VERSUS USDA CERTIFIED ORGANIC
The term organic can be interchangeably used to misrepresent products as being USDA Certified Organic. There is a difference between products that are authorized and guaranteed by the National Organic Program (NOP), a regulatory program initiated by the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service that grants a USDA Certified Organic Seal that can be authenticated on the Organic Integrity Database, and products that are claimed to be organic.
